Taking the A1(M) North or South, leave at Junction 62, signposted A690 Durham and Sunderland.

Take the A690, which is a dual carriageway, through the Park & Ride traffic lights towards Sunderland.

Passing under a railway bridge, and with the Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club on your right, continue for about 1 mile to the crossroads. Pulling into the filter lane in the central reservation, turn right towards Pittington.

Rainton Gate Luxury Cat Hotel is almost immediately on your left, and clearly signed.
