Vaccinations

We only accept cats with certificates of "in date" inoculations for Feline Infectious Enteritis and upper respiratory infections (Cat Flu.)

We recommend a minimum of 7 days gap between receiving a booster/inoculation and entry into the cattery, to allow for adverse reactions to the drugs.

Customers must provide proof of vaccination, otherewise their cat will not be accepted for boarding.

Medication

We are happy to administer medication, including insulin, to your cats while they stay with us. For most medication to be administered there is no additional charge. (Charges will only be incurred if the medication has to be given through the night.)

Health

No cat suffering from, or suspected of suffering from any infectious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival, and we reserve the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health, pending advice from a veterinary surgeon. Owners appreciate that this is essential to safeguard all the cats boarded. We have isolation facilities should the need arise.

This is for the benefit of all of our customers.

Fleas & Worms

Although we realise that fleas & worms are a fairly common problem, we take a great deal of care to ensure that our facility remains a safe haven from them so your cat doesn’t contract them here.

When we accept a cat for boarding, we assume that it comes to us free of fleas or at least without an owners knowledge of their cat having them. Just as we would take proper steps to have a cat treated for what may be an infectious illness etc., if we find that a cat has fleas whilst in our care, we will treat it with Advantage or Frontline formula, (both highly recommended and effective externally-administered flea formula.) The £9 charge for this will be added to your boarding fees along with a standard charge of £12 for treatment of any bedding you brought with you. If you have any concerns about fleas, we recommend that you use a formula like Advantage or Frontline, prior to bringing your cat. (All cats that go outside, no matter how far, or for how long, are at risk of contracting fleas.)

If we find evidence of worms we will treat with Drontal. Flea and worm treatment will only be carried out if you are not currently treating your cat with a veterinary brand flea and worm treatment. This will be identified from your booking form and if necessary from your veterinary surgeon.

Veterinary Services

We have the services of highly qualified veterinary surgeons that are as close as 10 minutes away. In the unlikely event that your cat needs veterinary services, we will do whatever is necessary to ensure that your cat is properly looked after. Veterinary services, excluding initial consultation, are usually covered by our cattery insurance up to a maximum of £700.00 inc VAT, provided that the problem is not a pre-existing condition. (If the problem is pre-existing, and for consultations and/or prescriptions, then the veterinary bill will be added to your boarding invoice exactly as the amount invoiced to us.) Our only other charge is a nominal fee of £10.00 + VAT to transport your cat to the veterinary clinic.

Food

You can choose from a selection of brands or varieties of dry and wet food that we keep on hand. All food is included in our boarding rates. Just let us know your requirements when you book with us. If your cat is on a special veterinary diet, please bring along their prescription food and specify feeding times and routines.

(You can of course bring your own food if you wish, although we are unable to offer any discount for doing so.)

Bedding & toys

You are welcome to bring your cat's own bedding and toys to make their stay more comfortable. We would request that you limit the number of bedding items to a maximum of 2 however, as we clean their bedding every day.

Grooming

Every cat, as well as a daily health check, receives a session of grooming. (Unless they object violently!) This is not a professional grooming service, although at the end of a week's stay we like to think that your cat returns to you as if it has received one. It is a complimentary service, however we reserve the right to charge a fee of £35, if a cat arrives in a condition in which we are obliged both legally and morally to improve upon. You will be advised of this at the time of admittance.

Special Facilities

We have larger chalet/suites to board larger families of cats together.

Cats with medical conditions or special needs - please discuss with us at the time of booking so that we can have the accommodation prepared to cater for their needs.

Security

Our premises are alarmed, and CCTV is installed.

Reservations, Drop Off & Pick-Up

We suggest you reserve as early as possible for the peak seasons of June, July, August, Bank Holidays and School holidays.

We will require a £35 deposit from all new customers, which is non-refundable.

Our opening hours are 0900-1300 and 1500-1800 except for Wednesdays and Sundays when we close at 1300 and 1200 respectively. Sorry, but we are unable to accept callers outside of these hours. This ensures an efficient service, and is for the benefit of our guests and their owners. We are closed on Bank Holidays.

Due to high demand during peak seasons, it is important that you allow enough time in a reservation to allow for flight and traffic problems, to allow you to collect your cat on the day and time agreed. For example, if you are returning to Newcastle Airport on a flight expected to land after 4.30pm, especially an international arrival, it is unlikely that you will have sufficient time to collect your cat before we close that night. We cannot accomodate late collection outside of these hours - see below.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time, to allow ample time to settle your cat, and to deal with the administration of your booking.

Please respect our opening hours - they are for the benefit of all our customers.

Late Collection Charge

Customers who fail to collect their cat on the day agreed at the time of booking, will be charged a fee of £35. At peak periods we are reliant on cats being collected on time, to allow for the cleaning, disinfection and "resting" of the unit before the next cat arrives the following day. It is contrary to good practice, and for the welfare of your cat to have to keep it in a holding pen.

Cancellation of Booking

We require at least 14 days notice of a cancellation.

We reserve the right to charge the full rate where cancellations are made with less than 14 days notice.

Collection & Delivery Service

If you wish, we can pick up and drop off your cats for you. This service is available subject to certain restrictions, between 0800-1800hrs

There is a small charge for this service - please ask at the time of booking.

Payment terms, Prices & VAT

Payment in full is required on collection of your cat(s). We accept all major debit and credit cards, (although credit card transactions will incur a surcharge of 2.5%,) and cash. Please note that from 15th January 2008, we no longer accept cheques as a method of payment.

Prices are reviewed annually and become effective 1st January of the following year. We became liable to VAT from 1st December 2006.

Misc.

We reserve the right to change our booking conditions without notice, but will always publish them on this website, and are available from Reception.
